Conversations about digital inclusion have been centre stage at NetHui events in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland in recent years. The 2020 Trust is pleased to host a breakfast at NetHui South on Saturday 22 November to continue this dialogue. Our 2020 digital inclusion programmes have been running in the South Island from Invercargill to Motueka for many years. This includes Computers in Homes, Stepping UP and ICDL. But the 2013 Census revealed that 27% of all South Island households (over 100,000 households) do not have access to the internet. We are particularly concerned about the school-aged children in 10,000 of these households who do not have internet access. What can we do about this to ensure all young people hae equitable learning opportunities? We invite you to join us for breakfast and share your ideas.
